Each aged copper tag is hand stamped with a unique number using a mallet just as they would have been in the late 1700s to 1800s, done in sequence and when ordered. It’s purposefully designed to NOT be a perfect oval, because they weren’t then either! Solid copper piece, handcrafted in the USA and aged for us using an eco-friendly process. Lead and Nickel free. Comes with its own special pin (two of them) so that you can affix it to whatever you’d like. Ours is a representation of one, as authentic ones from the time period are extremely rare. Numbers cannot be requested. Stamped in sequence so no two are alike.
Every freedom tag was valuable because of the rights it gave the bearer. Protect and store yours with a 3×4″ cotton storage pouch as it may have also been protected in history.
No two pouches will be the same, as they are individually created to appear aged.
Certificates of Freedom were issued by government clerks upon satisfactory proof being submitted to them about the requester’s freedom. Everyone didn’t get one, because not everyone asked for one.
Our version uses language meant to correct for history, using your name or a name of your choice and with or without a reference to an ancestor. Each one is made to look aged, and no two are alike. Each is hand stamped with our FREE image into warm red wax dripped onto the paper. Desired name on certificate will be requested before fulfilling order.
